K2 ALCHEMIST Snowboard

K2 consulted science and added a touch of magic to it: the genesis of the K2 Alchemist. They managed to turn base metals into gold! All the advanced technology has been incorporated into this board. Thanks to the S1 core, Spectral Braid and Carbon Power Fork, this is a board with precision, speed and easy turn initiation. It is a board for advanced and expert riders who enjoy diving into powder and can handle themselves on the slopes.

Profile:

Directional camber profile – Camber extending to the front foot area and a slight rocker in the tip. Used in boards that are more focused on freeride. Camber provides precision and pop; rocker provides float and predictability.

Core:

S1 Core – The smooth-flexing cousin of K2’s A1 core, the S1 core was designed to be damp underfoot and stronger than hell. Built from bamboo, aspen and paulownia, the S1 core allows each wood to do what it does best. Bamboo stringers running from tip to tail add spring, durability and damping underfoot and are balanced by lightweight paulownia in the centre of the body, tip and tail, helping to reduce swing weight. Underneath, aspen and bamboo are positioned at a 30° angle to increase strength, enhance edge-to-edge response and improve pressure distribution along the edges.

Reinforcements:

Spaceglass – Aviation-grade fiberglass. Very lightweight and strong, with improved edge hold and reduced vibrations.

Spectral Braid – Using variable-length fiberglass, K2 tailored the board’s torsional stiffness exactly where it was needed. This gave the board immense stability and maneuverability.

recess3D – By reducing the amount of material in low-stress areas, K2 was able to reduce the weight of the snowboard while also reducing vibrations in the tip and tail – all without sacrificing strength.

Triaxial Glass – Three-layer fiberglass material woven at angles of 0°, +45° and -45°.

Carbon Power Fork – Carbon fiber has been added only to the tail section, providing greater spring. The more you flex the tail, the more energy you generate.

Base:

Wax-infused Sintered 4001 base

Built using Crown’s hardest and fastest sintered base material on the market, Wax-Infused Sintered 4001 retains wax longer than other sintered bases, providing a smoother glide for longer.
