The K2 Wayback 89 is a lightweight, versatile ski touring ski designed for those who expect high efficiency on the ascent without sacrificing confidence and performance on the descent. The model was developed with the input of athletes and guides, while its refined shape, profile and construction provide an excellent balance of low weight, stability and control in varied terrain.

With a 89 mm waist, the Wayback 89 remains light and agile enough for long ascents while offering sufficient surface area and stability when skiing off-piste. The T3 – Titanal Touring Technology construction uses Titanal laminates to improve handling confidence and downhill performance without adding excessive weight.

The Paulownia Tour Light core helps reduce the weight of the entire construction while maintaining appropriate durability and flex characteristics. The All-Terrain Rocker profile, combining rocker in the tips with traditional camber underfoot, makes turn initiation and skiing in soft snow easier while providing good edge grip and stability on harder surfaces.

T3 – Titanal Touring Technology
A construction developed with a focus on the downhill performance of a ski touring ski. The use of Titanal laminates increases stability, handling precision and control on the descent while maintaining the low weight required for ascents.

Paulownia Tour Light Core
An ultralight paulownia wood core designed specifically for ski touring skis. It significantly reduces weight while maintaining the necessary durability and elasticity of the construction.

All-Terrain Rocker
A gradual rocker in the front section of the ski combined with traditional camber underfoot. The rocker makes turn initiation easier and improves the ski’s performance in soft snow, while the camber provides edge grip, stability and predictable handling.

Snophobic™ Topsheet
A specially designed topsheet that reduces snow accumulation on the skis. It helps keep the actual weight of the setup low during the ascent.

Biobased Resin
Resin using 31% biobased carbon content, meaning carbon sourced from biological sources. It provides a durable bond between the structural elements and resistance at low temperatures.
